COST Action ES1002

COST Action ES1002 - "WIRE: Weather Intelligence for renewable energies", launched and chaired by Meteotest. Thanks to this cooperation, Meteotest is located in the centre of all European research activities in the field of Production forecast for wind and solar energy. Vereisung WEA St. Brais

Icing on the St. Brais wind turbines, 2009 to 2011: Consequences of icing on operation and power production. Project managed by Meteotest including icing measuerements, modeling and forecasting.

MEMFIS

MEMFIS, 2008 to 2010: Measuring, Modelling and Forecasting Ice Loads on Structures. A project initiated and managed by Meteotest including icing measurements, modeling and forecasting.

SEEWIND

SEEWIND, 2007 to 2010: Research project within the 'Sixth Framework Programme' of the European Union. Meteotest participated in the project 'South-East Europe Wind Energy Exploitation – Research and demonstration of wind energy utilisation in complex terrain and under specific local wind systems'.

Windenergievorhersagen in komplexem Gelände

Wind power forecasts in complex terrain, 2007 to 2009: Research project with the aim to develop a fore- and nowcasting system for wind power in the complex Swss terrain. The project was sponsered by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy and carried out in collaboration with MeteoSwiss.

Windvorhersagen in Rumänien

Wind power forecasts in Romania, 2007 to 2009: Research project with the aim to develop and evaluate a power forecasting system based on the WRF weather model.

COST Action 727

COST Action 727: Alpine Test Site Gütsch, 2005 to 2008. Meteotest takes part in the Swiss research project "Alpine Test Site Gütsch: Meteorological measurements and wind turbine performance analysis" in the scope of COST Action 727: "Measuring and forecasting atmospheric icing on structures".

Alpine Windharvest

Within the Interreg IIIB procect "Alpine Windharvest" (2002–2005) Meteotest leads the work package "Digital Relief Analysis" and produces a wind map of the whole Alpine area. Additionally, SODAR measurements and CFD modeling were performed from Slovenia to France.
